Capturing a Bit of Summer

Today Mary and I prepared and froze about 16 quart bags of sweet corn.  Mary went down to the farmers market at Hilldale and bought about 5 dozen ears of corn that Farmer Bob had already shucked for us.  Then Mary cleaned and cooked the corn and put it in the ice chest to cool off.  Then I cut the corn off the cobs and put it in the bags to freeze.  We got it all done by about noon.  Then I also cooked up a couple of quarts of tomatoes to freeze.

Mmmmmm... that will make some good eating this winter!

  1. 5 dozen ears - wow! I guess it goes faster when the corn is already shucked!
