Visit to Billy's

Mary and I headed to Hayward on Tuesday to visit her brother Bill.  The Fall colors were extraordinary in the north woods!

We saw turkeys in the road on at least four occasions, but they get of the road into the woods before I could get a good picture.
On the way to dinner Tuesday evening we spotted a bear foraging on the side of the road. He ran into the woods a little ways and we backed up and caught him in some pictures.  It was almost dark, and that made it hard to get a good shot of a black bear.

On Wednesday we went to a bog at Stone lake for cranberries. The bog was dry and there were no cranberries visible. They had Craisins for sale, but no cranberries.  We bought lots of craisins.  We toured the area, and saw the famous and not so famous Hayward fishes:

On Thursday on our way home we stopped again for cranberries, and when we got there the bogs were flooded and the harvesters were scooping up the berries. Very colorful.  We bought 5 Lbs. of berries
