Finishing Up

In my last post we had started laying the pavers, and discovered the wrong circle package had been delivered, causing a minor delay.

By the next weekend we had the new circle and Jenny promptly set to work laying it out according to the detailed diagram. Dennis helped with the heavy lifting,

while Jerry and Gunnar finished laying the rectangular area.

On Sunday Dr Brokopp brought a masonry wet saw and cut the final pieces to complete the layout.

Gizzy checks out the finished Circle. Note that one-piece center stone. Jenny deviated from the instructions to "cut 2 'G' stones in half and cut off two corners of each" to fit in the center of the pattern", and used a "medium" block - 9.5"X9.5" with the corners removed to fill the center hole with one piece.

After completing the cutting and fitting around the edges and the circle, we applied limestone into the corners and then sand over the whole surface. The finished surface looks like this.

Add a wall and gate to keep the dogs corralled, and we'll be finished!

Jaxon beckons me to come out on the new patio with a couple of Charlie Bears.
